Position Overview:
As a vital member of our organization, the Y in Central Maryland seeks a dedicated individual to fulfill the role of a Head Start Assistant Teacher. This position is essential in promoting the educational and emotional growth of young children from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lead teachers and administrative staff to implement educational programs that cater to children of varying abilities.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Act as a resource across multiple classrooms, providing supervision and support to enhance the learning experience.
- Foster the holistic development of each child, focusing on their social, emotional, cognitive, and creative growth.
- Engage with families and community members to support the educational journey of economically disadvantaged children.

Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and the well-being of young learners.
- Previous experience in early childhood settings is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Possession of a Child Development Associate certification.
- Completion of 90 hours of child care training, including 9 hours focused on communication.
