KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Functions:

Provides strategic recommendations and insights to management for the planning and procurement of various sourcing and resourcing initiatives.

Engages in supplier evaluations, employing effective negotiation and procurement strategies to secure quality, pricing, delivery, and service for designated projects.

New Product Development (NPD) and Resourcing Initiatives:

  • Conducts research and proposes potential suppliers.
  • Oversees and ensures the achievement of NPD and/or Resourcing Project launch timelines and critical milestones.
  • Formulates and implements recovery strategies as necessary.
  • Guarantees project completion within budgetary constraints and on schedule.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Assists the Supply Chain in managing inventory levels for optimal project outcomes.

Identifies, assesses, and recommends new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services at competitive prices, adhering to the highest ethical standards.

Conducts evaluations of new supplier facilities, assesses production capabilities, and participates in supplier certification audits.

Prepares and reviews requests for proposals (RFP) or requests for quotations (RFQ) and negotiates contracts to achieve optimal outcomes for assigned projects.

Implements LEAN methodologies to minimize waste in the sourcing development process.

Supports logistics in achieving monthly and annual freight expenditure targets for assigned projects.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Periodic Responsibilities:

  • Develops reports as needed for assigned projects.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations.
  • Willingness to travel may be required (approximately up to 10%).

LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Takes ownership of assigned projects within the sourcing domain.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a sourcing management position within a distribution setting, preferably in a relevant industry.

Professional Skills and Training:

  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, LEAN, or other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Certifications:

  • Project management training is a plus.
  • ASCM or equivalent certification is advantageous.
