Job Title: Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team at Triumvirate Environmental. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, verifying timesheets, and coordinating with finance for payment processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process payrolls for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and commissioned staff, in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations
  • Review and verify timesheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll data and coordinate with finance for payment processing
  • Stay updated on payroll-related regulations and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing prompt and accurate information
  • Assist employees with payroll issues, such as wage discrepancies, direct deposit setups, and benefits deductions
  • Conduct payroll-related training sessions for new hires or as needed
  • Utilize payroll software (e.g., ADP, Payworks, Dayforce) for processing and reporting purposes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the implementation of new payroll procedures or systems
  • Collaborate with the HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance overall efficiency
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Payworks, Dayforce) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to work onsite in our Somerville, MA office
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field preferred
  • Fluency in French
  • Expertise in Canadian payroll
  • Experience in Prevailing Wage or Certified Payroll preferred

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, and a generous tuition reimbursement program.
