About the Role:

The MRI Technologist is responsible for capturing high-quality images using magnetic resonance imaging scanners and related equipment. This role requires close collaboration with physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI examinations on patients of all ages, adjusting scanning parameters as needed.
  • Select and modify technical factors to enhance image quality.
  • Determine the appropriate equipment for scanning, including body coils.
  • Position patients correctly and record diagnostic images.
  • Identify gross pathology in the human body and adjust scanning parameters accordingly.
  • Perform Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, and other advanced imaging techniques.
  • Use magnetic resonance to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Follow established protocols and scanning techniques.
  • Document systems failures and variances in the logbook.
  • Perform quality control for procedures and equipment.
  • Identify and respond to IV contrast reactions.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to radiologists.
  • Communicate pertinent data to patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in radiology or a related field.
  • Registered with the ARRT, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.
  • One year of experience in a related field, preferred.
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program, when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training, as applicable to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 18 months of experience as a MRI Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AART MR Certification or ARMRIT Certification.
  • WI State License.
  • BLS certification.
