Event Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Event Technician to join our team at The Budd Group. As an Event Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and breaking down events, moving furniture and equipment, and ensuring that all items are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading furniture from our moving trucks and ensuring that all items are moved undamaged.
  • Wrapping furniture or other sensitive items in protective material.
  • Securing all items in the vehicle with straps (where applicable) before moving, to prevent shifting of items in transit.
  • Moving items from one location to another.
  • Hand hoisting furniture both up and down.
  • Setting up items (furniture/event equipment/etc) in the assigned locations.
  • Ensuring no items are damaged during the moving process and reporting damage when it occurs.
  • Processes work orders and effectively communicates completion to leadership and the client.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in performing general janitorial duties and light maintenance work as directed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that event locations are clean and set.
  • Assists in project cleaning, which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms. Setting up and breaking down event set ups; moving student chairs/desks, file cabinets, rugs, and all other boxes in classrooms. May include scrubbing floors, pulling trash, dusting, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning or other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist in emergency clean up situations.
Position Qualifications/Skills:
  • Proven work experience as a mover or in a similar role, required.
  • 2+ years of direct work experience, preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required to operate moving vehicles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to build effective professional relationships with all team members and the client.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional company representation at all times.
Physical Demands:
  • Able to walk, stand, bend and work up to 8 hours daily.
  • Able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
