We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team at BAC. As a key member of our custodial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform floor care duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors, as well as polishing, stripping, buffing, and waxing floors.
- Shampoo carpets and remove spots and stains.
- Extract water and disinfect water-damaged carpets.
- Move furniture as needed to perform floor care duties.
- Clean offices, including dusting, vacuuming, carpet spot removal, and sweeping.
- Clean restrooms, including mopping, disinfecting, cleaning mirrors, partitions, toilets, and sinks, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Vacuum, mop, and wipe down walls in cleanrooms.
- Select cleaning products, mix, and measure chemicals as required.
- Properly dispose of hazardous waste materials.
- Maintain supplies and equipment under established procedures.
- Set up and break down furniture for special events.
- Ensure unoccupied areas are secured after cleaning.
- Load and unload custodial supplies and equipment on trucks, transport equipment and materials to other facilities.
- Report to management when any scheduled work could not be performed or completed.
- Respond to emergency calls after hours and on weekends.
- 6 months of experience in floor care.
- Ability to pass a background screening for access to work areas.
- Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Background screening and have reliable transportation.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Prior custodial work experience.
- Qualified to work under the AbilityOne Program.
- General knowledge of standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in custodial work.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
- Completes assigned work on or before deadlines in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Accepts supervisory instruction and direction and strives to meet the goals and objectives of same.
- Adheres to all safety and housekeeping standards established by applicable agencies.
- Attends work regularly and adheres to policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.
- Provides adequate notice for time-off requests.
- Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability.
- Able to follow basic instructions and respond to common inquiries with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Reasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions.
- Attentive to detail for quality performance.
