The Child Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the child care facility in collaboration with the Child Care Manager. The Child Care Supervisor must ensure the development and safety of the children attending the Stratton child care facility aligns with state and federal legislation policies and procedures. The Child Care Supervisor ensures staff are supervised and compliant with the rules and regulations. The Child Care Supervisor must maintain accurate and confidential client and program files. This is a full-time, year-round benefit-eligible position.
Fosters open communication between parents and caregivers
Stay up-to-date on state licensing regulations for center-based care and ensure compliance
Encourage and assist teaching staff with transitions and behavior management
Assist the Child Care Manager in scheduling, managing reservations, and contracts
Assist with developing and implementing staff professional development and orientation/policy training
Responsible for managing and overseeing the child care center during the Child Care Manager's absence
Complete required annual training hours as defined by the State of Vermont Department of Children and Families and the Child Care Manager
Willing to cover classrooms in teacher absence/planning time
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
3 to 5 years of experience as a Teacher Associate or Supervisor in a licensed child care program
1 to 2 years of supervision and staff management experience
Knowledge of state legislation, regulation, and policies
Proficient in Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel may be required to attend educational functions.
This position may require work on weekends and holidays.
