Job Summary
Allergy Partners PLLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional patient care and services, including taking patient history, recording information in patient charts, and conferring with physicians about new patient findings and potential diagnosis and treatment.
- Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
- Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
- Provide diagnosis and treatment services to established patients.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and immunotherapy in accordance with physician protocols.
- Formulate and update patient care plans; consult with physicians as needed.
- Perform patient education duties; show immunotherapy videos, hand out brochures, and direct patients to specific Internet sites for more information.
- Act as backup and put patients in rooms as needed.
- Transmit prescription requests to pharmacy; document action in patient chart and obtain physician signature of approval.
- Oversee appointment bookings and ensure emergency situations are scheduled appropriately; maintain timely flow of patients.
- Return patient phone messages at designated times throughout the day; document action taken in patient chart.
- Triage incoming telephone calls; instruct patient and family regarding treatment instruction, then document action taken in patient chart.
- Complete all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
- Comply with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Typical Physical Demands
Position requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will work under stressful conditions, and be exposed to bodily fluids on a regular basis.
Typical Working Conditions
Employee will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, needle sticks and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Qualifications
- NP degree required.
- Current licensure maintained.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience in a physician office or hospital.
- Ability to make independent decisions about patient care.
- Experience diagnosing and treating patients.
- Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population.
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
- Good communication skills.
- Neat, professional appearance.
