Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to lead contract negotiations, maintain compliance with laws and regulations, and oversee ongoing litigation. The ideal candidate will provide primary legal support, advise on business development and financing transactions, and collaborate with the CEO and Management Team to drive the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft contracts, including customer and vendor agreements, employment contracts, and licensing agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance on contract negotiation, compliance, and risk management.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures, training employees on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Manage the company's legal affairs, including dispute resolution and collections.
  • Monitor changes in laws and legislation, advising on compliance and providing guidance on applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • Active and in Good Standing with the CA State Bar.
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in the food and trading industries.
  • Strong knowledge of creditor's rights, commercial contract negotiation, and employment law.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
