NUS Monitor Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented NUS Monitor Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and documentation, prioritizing and organizing work assignments based on changing needs and situations.
- Greet patients and families, assisting them with necessary forms and paperwork.
- Complete admission and discharge paperwork and file processing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Develop a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff, responding to questions and requests from healthcare providers.
- Organize and file medical information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict procedures.
- Answer phones and communicate clearly with other units, physicians, and guests, ensuring seamless communication.
- Safeguard sensitive medical information, practicing confidentiality and adhering to data protection protocols.
- Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, documenting on patient records and communicating with unit personnel.
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols, ensuring the protection of patient, clinician, employee, and visitor information.
- Perform other tasks as necessary to ensure efficient department operation.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma required.
- Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam required.
- Nursing Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting strongly desired.
- Current and active NUS Monitor Tech work experience strongly desired.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart strongly preferred.
- Computer, order entry, basic Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to work with patients and families, with flexibility to adjust to changes in census.
