NUS Monitor Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented NUS Monitor Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and documentation, prioritizing and organizing work assignments as needed.
- Greet patients and families, assisting them with necessary forms and paperwork.
- Complete admission and discharge paperwork, as well as file processing, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Develop strong relationships with nursing and clinical staff, responding to questions and requests from healthcare providers.
- Organize and file medical information securely and efficiently.
- Answer phones and respond to call bells, communicating clearly with other units, physicians, and guests.
- Safeguard sensitive medical information, adhering to confidentiality procedures.
- Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, documenting results and communicating with unit personnel as needed.
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols for patient, clinician, employee, and visitor information.
- Perform other tasks as necessary to ensure departmental efficiency.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma required.
- Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam.
- Nursing Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting is strongly desired.
- Current and active NUS Monitor Tech work experience is strongly desired.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.
- Computer, order entry, and basic Microsoft Office skills are required, along with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with patients and families, and to adapt to changing census and priorities.
