About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented NUS Monitor Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and documentation, prioritizing and organizing work assignments based on changing needs and situations.
- Greet patients and families, assisting them with necessary forms and paperwork.
- Complete admission and discharge paperwork and file processing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Develop a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff, responding to questions and requests from healthcare providers.
- Organize and file medical information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict procedures.
- Answer phones and communicate clearly with unit personnel, physicians, and guests, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Safeguard sensitive medical information, practicing strict confidentiality and adhering to data protection protocols.
- Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, documenting on patient records per departmental standards.
- Adhere to confidentiality of information acquired, maintaining the trust and integrity of our healthcare team.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma required.
- Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam is required.
- Nursing Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting is strongly desired.
- Current and active NUS Monitor Tech work experience is strongly desired.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.
- Computer, order entry, basic Microsoft office, and excellent communication skills are required.
- Must enjoy working with patients and families.
- Must be flexible and able to rapidly adjust to changes in census, with a strong focus on accuracy and response times.
