Key Responsibilities- Monitor and coordinate environmental aspects of internal operations and external agencies.
- Oversee the work of external environmental consultants and ensure timely and accurate completion of contract requirements.
- Collect and analyze data for environmental aspects of projects.
- Identify and apply for necessary environmental permits for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines, permits, and regulations.
- Develop and update policy and processes to ensure environmental compliance.
- Analyze and make recommendations to management.
- Work as a liaison between regulatory agencies and other company departments.
- Deliver training and provide guidance to operations staff and management.
- Prepare budget forecasts and track budgets for assigned environmental work.
- Support company safety initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or Environmental Sciences; or the equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- A minimum of five years' experience in environmental or regulatory matters.
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and the company's business processes.
- Data gathering, analysis, and interpretation skills.
- Writing skills.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local governmental environmental laws and regulations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers and software applications.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization and prioritize workload under pressure.
- Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting.
- Knowledge of natural resource issues related to the energy industry.
- GIS skills.
