Job Description

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking a highly skilled Area Sales Manager I, Residential to join their team in Richmond, VA.

As a key member of the sales team, the successful candidate will be responsible for growing market share of Mitsubishi Electric systems by developing and utilizing existing relationships with key distributor personnel and local contractors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably in the HVAC industry, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The essential functions of the position include:

  • Partnering with distributor staff and contractors to execute growth plans and develop the Diamond Contractor Community.
  • Further developing partnerships with distributors, sales teams, contractors, utility companies, and builders to drive sales growth.
  • Selling the value proposition of Mitsubishi Electric systems and offering the benefits of their broad line of whole home solutions.
  • Participating in local professional groups, industry associations, distributor trade shows, and other event functions.
  • Administering and conducting sales and applications training, marketing programs, and annual reviews at the contractor and distributor level.
  • Assisting distribution with inventory reporting and job quoting as needed.
  • Developing distributors' sales personnel to be proficient in selling Mitsubishi Electric products to residential contractors.
  • Developing a Residential Market Strategy for the territory using market data.
  • Maintaining and updating all new and existing contractor information in Salesforce.
  • Developing proficiency in application and installation methods and techniques for new and existing products.
  • Reporting to the Regional Manager monthly on market conditions and activities.
  • Working with Commercial BU counterparts as needed to capitalize on sales opportunities for the entire ME US product line.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory for distributor, dealer, trade organization meetings and outside of the assigned territory for various company meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the HVAC industry. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

The total compensation package for this position includes a base pay range of $68,000 to $93,500 per year, as well as commissions of 30% of total compensation calculated as achievement against annual revenue targets, incentive compensation, and discretionary awards. The company also offers a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans, 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
