Job Summary

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for a full-time position in the New Lenox area. This role involves supporting students from Pre-K through high school in both special education and general education settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) needs.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Conduct assessments and provide ongoing progress reports to families and school staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated on best practices in DHH education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Teaching License with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with DHH students in various educational settings is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
