Hyperion EPM Developer Job Description

This application development position is part of the Business Systems application team at Kinder Morgan, one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The successful candidate will work on developing and supporting many custom solutions for approximately 84,000 miles of natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) pipelines and over 150 terminals for storing and handling various chemicals and other products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing, upgrading, or optimizing specific technology in Hyperion EPM applications.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the requested application and utilize professional expertise to perform analysis, project management, and/or development activities.
  • Develop and support reporting through FR and Smart View, including maintenance of Excel VBA reporting logic.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes (efficiency, cost reductions, reduction in calculations' execution times, improved integrations).
  • Engage with Financial Reporting to design, develop, test, and implement changes to business rules, integrations, metadata, and web forms in HFM.
  • Support the FP&A team running the Budget, Forecast, and Long-Range Outlook processes in Hyperion Planning.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement new processes in the EPM Cloud environment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum experience of 6 to 8 years handling Hyperion EPM applications.
  • Very good experience in Hyperion HFM, FDMEE, DRM, Planning, ESSBASE, EPBCS, and ODI.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining application integrations using FDMEE, ODI, and Data Management.
  • Ability to trace and diagnose data integration differences from various data sources (MSSQL query experience preferred).
  • Maintain On-Prem and Cloud EPM environments including service monitoring, performance tuning, security, and patching.
  • Proven experience with financial concepts and reporting.
  • Exposure in core DRM concepts like Exports, Imports, Blenders, Action Scripts, Property Definition, and Property Categories.
