Security Officer Rotating Shift Part Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, facilities, and hospital property.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol all areas of the assigned facility to identify and address security concerns and incidents.
- Provide information, assistance, and guidance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
- Conduct internal and external rounds to ensure the safety and security of the facility, property, and occupants.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, documenting all incidents and activities as required.
- Assist nursing units, clinical care areas, and other departments with uncooperative, combative, or violent patients and visitors, using de-escalation techniques as necessary.
- Provide patient watch activities to prevent elopement or injury to self or others.
- Apply restraints as directed by medical staff, contacting local law enforcement as necessary.
- Deal with custody disputes and domestic disturbances occurring on campus.
- Conduct patient and visitor searches as required, and conduct room and belonging searches as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and code calls, performing CPR and using AEDs as necessary.
- Monitor parking lots for compliance with facility parking regulations, issuing tickets to unauthorized parked vehicles and observing and following up on safety hazards.
- Enforce company policies as directed by a supervisor.
- Assist with parking space and utilization, rearranging parking barricades as needed.
- Assist with helicopter arrivals and departures, releasing deceased patients and accepting incoming deceased patients.
- Complete all required and requested forms, reports, and documents.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- High school graduate required.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Direct security experience highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required in accordance with D-H's Driver Disqualifications Guidelines.
- Must maintain Taser, Handcuff, and Pepper Gel certification.
- Must complete all required training and pass minimal physical requirements within 90 days from date of hire and as required thereafter.
- Must obtain IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification within 6 months of hire.
