As the Area Behavior Analyst, your role will involve providing expert behavioral support and consultation across various Spectrum School locations within a designated region. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, training staff, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
The Area Behavior Analyst will collaborate closely with the Area/Regional VP, Operations, and onsite Program Directors to enhance the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of students through evidence-based interventions and teamwork with the operational and educational staff at each campus.
‖ Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors in students.
- Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that align with organizational standards and address individual student needs.
- Assist in formulating measurable, objective IEP goals and facilitate progress monitoring in partnership with instructional staff.
- Apply evidence-based interventions utilizing scientifically validated behavioral and educational strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Provide crisis management support for students displaying aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and devise strategies to minimize the need for intensive staffing.
- Work collaboratively with educational teams to gather and analyze behavioral data, monitor student progress, and ensure effective intervention responsiveness.
- Conduct regular quality assessments across campuses within the assigned region and recommend improvements based on data analysis.
- Facilitate training for onsite teams on behavioral assessment, intervention strategies, data collection, and crisis management.
- Guide and supervise staff pursuing BACB certification within the assigned region.
- Contribute to the development and execution of improvement plans for campuses to enhance student performance and staff effectiveness.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address behavioral needs and support comprehensive strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Education regulations and internal standards across all campuses in the assigned area.
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and compliance activities.
- Provide operational support to schools, focusing on academic achievement and behavioral support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational success.
‖ Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board at one of the following levels:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D)
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) may be acceptable at certain locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in approved crisis management procedures.
- Preferred: Current education specialist or special education teaching credential (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe).
- A valid driver's license is required for travel between locations.
- Experience in training and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques in educational settings.
- Proficient in working with individuals with severe learning, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including autism spectrum disorders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant technology, including instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
