As the Area Behavior Analyst, your role will encompass delivering expert behavioral guidance and consultation across various Spectrum School locations within a designated region. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, formulating behavior intervention plans, training staff, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards.

The Area Behavior Analyst will collaborate closely with the Area/Regional VP of Operations and onsite Program Directors to improve the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of students through evidence-based practices and teamwork with educational staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to determine the underlying causes of challenging behaviors in students.
  • Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that meet Spectrum standards and address individual student needs.
  • Assist in creating measurable IEP goals and facilitate progress monitoring in partnership with instructional staff.
  • Apply evidence-based interventions to foster positive academic, social, emotional, and independent functioning outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention support for students displaying aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and devise strategies to minimize the need for intensive staffing.
  • Work closely with educational teams to gather and analyze behavioral data, monitor student progress, and ensure effective intervention strategies.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of each campus within the assigned region, offering recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
  • Facilitate training for on-site teams regarding behavioral assessment, intervention strategies, data collection, and crisis management.
  • Guide and mentor staff members pursuing BACB certification within the assigned region.
  • Assist in formulating and executing improvement plans for campuses to boost student performance and staff efficiency.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address behavioral needs and develop comprehensive support strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Education regulations and internal standards across all campuses in the assigned area.
  • Maintain detailed records of assessments, interventions, and compliance activities.
  • Provide operational support to schools, focusing on academic achievement, behavioral assistance, and staff development.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board at one of the following levels:
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D)
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
    • Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) may be acceptable at select locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in approved crisis management procedures.
  • Preferred: Current education specialist or special education teaching credential (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe).
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel between locations.
  • Experience in training and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques in educational settings.
  • Expertise in working with individuals with severe learning and emotional behavioral disorders, including autism spectrum disorders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant technology, including instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
