Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Coordinator to join our team at South Bend Community School. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the school's athletics program, ensuring the success and well-being of our student-athletes, and maintaining a positive and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive athletics program that aligns with the school's mission and goals.
  • Recruit, select, and evaluate athletic coaches, ensuring they meet the necessary qualifications and standards.
  • Manage the scheduling of athletic events, including home and away games, and ensure the proper supervision of all events.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to provide additional opportunities and resources for our student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations governing the sports teams, including national sport governing body rules, school code of conduct, and individual team rules.
  • Manage the athletics department budget, fundraising, and finances, with the approval of administration.
  • Organize and lead parent meetings, communicate with parents through various channels, and maintain detailed records of all paperwork required by SBCSC.
  • Arrange transportation to away athletic contests and for the daily after-school activity buses.
  • Provide leadership and support to the coaching staff, maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders to maintain and improve all playing areas and equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified and AED Trained preferred.
  • Master's degree in school administration preferred.
Working Conditions

The Athletic Coordinator will work in standard office and school building environments, with occasional outdoor work. The position requires prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking, as well as physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects and equipment. The Coordinator must be able to handle stress and work regularly scheduled hours.
