About the Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Field Enumerator. This part-time position will involve collecting agricultural data on behalf of the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and providing reliable, accurate, and objective statistics to farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and possess a positive and friendly attitude. They will also be able to demonstrate good time management, work independently, and maintain a reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses either in person or on the phone
  • Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts
  • Maintain and deliver detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked
  • Represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions
Requirements
  • Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators
  • Ability to make crop counts in designated fields
  • Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals
