Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

At Westin Poinsett, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting Guest Rooms: Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet cleanliness and presentation standards, including dusting, debris removal, proper bed-making, and cleanliness of bathrooms and amenities.
  • Inspecting Public Areas: Review the cleanliness and maintenance of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Supervising Housekeeping Staff: Oversee the work of housekeeping attendants to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to standards, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Reporting: Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas to the maintenance department, keeping accurate records of inspections, including areas needing improvement.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor the usage of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, ensuring that housekeeping carts and storage areas are well-stocked and organized.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
  • Guest Interaction: Address any guest complaints or requests regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
  • Training: Assist in training new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching to ensure consistent service quality.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the housekeeping manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations and high guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a supervisory or inspection capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify cleanliness issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including standing, walking, and lifting.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires working on weekends, holidays, and day and evening shifts.
  • Involves physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
