As a Clinical Laboratory Technician at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a wide range of laboratory tests and interpreting results.
Responsibilities- Conduct various laboratory tests, including blood tests, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Interpret test results and communicate findings to physicians, escalating unusual or critical results as needed.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments to perform tests and maintain accuracy.
- Assist providers in selecting appropriate laboratory tests and perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory and maintain a safe working environment.
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- No prior experience required, but certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
