Safety Specialist

The City of Farmington is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and the public.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses
- Conduct hazard assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field
- 5+ years of experience in EHS, with a focus on safety program development and implementation
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
