Child Protection Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our Foster Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating claims of abuse and neglect, preparing child cases for court, and ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Investigate claims of abuse and neglect, conducting interviews with adults and children at various locations and gathering evidence as needed
- Prepare child cases for court, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate
- Work with community partners and collateral sources to provide interventions and reduce risks to children
- Identify family strengths and needs, determining alternative treatment plans as necessary
- Provide crisis intervention case management and attend court hearings as required
Secondary Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including documentation in the SACWIS and EDMS
- Assess the need for placement of children in substitute care and secure out-of-home care placement as needed
- Participate in ongoing training and supervisory meetings to stay current on best practices and policies
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human services-related studies or a related field
- At least two years of experience in a human services occupation
Certifications and Training
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of at least 90 hours of in-service training during the first year of employment, including courses in recognizing and preventing child abuse and neglect
Please note that this position requires flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with children and families in crisis, and must be able to maintain a high level of emotional stability and composure.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,319.00, based on a 40-hour workweek and a salary of $26.63 per hour.
