Job Summary:

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine diagnostic radiographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all routine diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures through patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices as established by LG protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Receive requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians, and consult with Radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients, confirming their identifications, performing the correct procedures as directed, and completely explaining the procedure to the patient and family as directed.
  • Operate and enter information through the hospital computer system, documenting required information and patient history in the electronic medical record.
  • Complete examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required, and perform POC testing, Universal Protocol, and other paperwork as applicable.
  • Accurately and appropriately utilize all computer-related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email, and the intranet.
  • May require travel to various site locations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology School.
  • Certification in Radiological Technology, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Valid driver's license may be required (based upon position assignment).
