Christus Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant Certified to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and education in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians in patient care, collect patient history, and provide patient education in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform advanced technical workups, including visual acuity, lensometry, color vision, visual field tests, and other special testing as directed by the physician.
- Conduct retinoscopy and A-Scans as directed by the physician, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and test results.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Vision program preferred.
- 1 year of experience working in an ophthalmology clinic setting required.
- BLS certification required.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from IJCAHPO required.
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) preferred.
