Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer

At L3Harris Technologies, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration, and troubleshooting of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne and simulation lab communication platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present technical results for internal and external program meetings
  • Document and support design verification tests within lab, ground, and flight test environments
  • Develop, track, and present technical metrics
  • Evaluate requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability
  • Analyze data from verification test efforts
  • Generate and maintain schedules for engineering activities
  • Maintain risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Work closely with Project Engineering and Program Management
  • Support training and development of new team members
  • Responsible for managing engineering teams during travel to offsite facilities for integration

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Read and interpret technical specifications, engineering blueprints, test procedures, and technical publications
  • Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teamcenter, DOORS, etc.
  • Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through an entire annual sustainment cycle
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
  • Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft (747, 757, or 737 preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Telecommunications, etc.) and a minimum of 9 years' of applicable experience. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Leading projects and/or task teams in the integration of systems and/or subsystems in airborne and/or lab environments
  • Experience creating system drawings, schematics, and/or signal interfaces
  • Current Security+ Certification
  • Airborne and/or operational experience with Mission Communications Systems offboard radios or network communications
  • Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers
  • Knowledge of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and implementation of systems that achieved an Authorization to Operate (ATO) on government networks DODAF
  • Experience working government and/or military program effort bidding process
