We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to join our team at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
- Function as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
- Interact with colleagues in a way that promotes a cooperative working environment and display technical expertise necessary to ensure timely and accurate results of laboratory procedures.
- Ensure specimens are obtained and processed in accordance with laboratory guidelines and demonstrate proper communication skills to relate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care providers.
- Support organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and participate in the training/mentoring of new employees, students or interns.
- Prioritize and organize workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity and demonstrate proper infection control practices, proper patient identification, and performs proper prompt specimen transport.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies, or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree.
- ASCP or equivalent certification within a specific area, i.e. M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP) qualifies.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
