Job Title: Lead Tech - Medical (ASCP) - Laboratory

Job Summary:

The Lead Tech - Medical (ASCP) will be responsible for the effective coordination and supervision of all laboratory functions, including scheduling, training, budgeting, and quality control monitoring. This role will also involve the maintenance of policies and procedures, proficiency testing, and integration of the laboratory section into the overall functioning of the Department and Northwest Texas Healthcare System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate laboratory functions, including scheduling, training, and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory standards, regulations, and policies.
  • Develop and implement quality control monitoring and proficiency testing programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including laboratory results and quality control data.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, medical directors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related science.
  • Five years of clinical laboratory experience, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification or National Certification Agency (NCA) certification.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
