We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Laboratory Technician II to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical procedures and tests to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specimen procurement, processing, and handling according to established protocols.
- Assist in equipment maintenance, quality control, and inventory control.
- Perform clerical functions, including data entry, record-keeping, and answering phones.
- Participate in monitoring workflow and maintaining compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the training of new staff, coworkers, and students.
- One year of clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician license.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Good communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Minimum 16 units of applicable Science (such as Chemistry, Biology) and Algebra at the college level.
- Good computer skills, including knowledge of various software applications.
