Job Description

We are a licensed childcare center that operates in accordance with the Reggio Emilia approach to education. Our philosophy emphasizes the importance of learning through exploration and discovery in a natural setting. We believe that children learn best when they are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and explore their surroundings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Reggio Emilia approach and the Tennessee Early Childhood Developmental Standards.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop an emergent curriculum that meets the needs of our students.
  • Document and share the learning journey of the classroom with colleagues and parents.
  • Assess student progress and communicate with parents and the director regarding any concerns or delays.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and kindness.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Child Development Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working with a group of children in a childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Tennessee Early Childhood Developmental Standards.
