We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team at SAM. As a key member of our geomatics crew, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily field operations of a land survey crew.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement efficient plans of action for data acquisition in field surveys, including primary control, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
- Document work performed and sketches, ensuring accurate and detailed records.
- Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress.
- Interact professionally with client representatives and land owners, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerances.
- Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork, maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Maintain land surveying vehicle and field equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs.
- Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
- Strong computer and technical skills, with proficiency in software applications relevant to land surveying.
- Strong communication skills, including listening, writing, and verbal communication.
- Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
- Ability to travel for extended periods, working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to walk long distances through diverse terrains and carry up to 80lbs.
- Valid driver's license, clean background check, and drug screening.
