Air Conditioning Technology Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician - HVAC Specialist to join our team in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Program Director and other instructors in supervising and evaluating students in an on-campus Air conditioning technology lab setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lab activities, including demonstration of tasks, grading of projects, and documentation.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, including ordering, stocking, and organizing.
  • Ensure that labs and storage areas are neat and orderly.
  • Assist with grading course material.
  • Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operate effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Program Director.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical skills in the air conditioning industry.
  • Demonstrates initiative.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in appearance.
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills: with faculty; colleagues and peers; and students.
  • Knowledge of hand/power tools and air conditioning supplies.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to communicate, meet deadlines, exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires the ability to adjust or move objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
  • This position requires the ability to repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • This position requires the ability to operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a medium work environment that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a light work environment that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a heavy work environment that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
