Support Specialist for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct support to help individuals live fulfilling, independent lives. As a Support Specialist, you will work alongside a dedicated team of clinical staff and supportive supervisors to create relationships that motivate us all to be better every day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and strategies to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them live well in their community and environment.
- Develop real, meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
- Assist individuals with their personal hygiene and support individuals who can have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
- Take initiative to help participants be part of the community and enjoy their favorite activities.
- Support participants with developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
What You'll Bring to Sevita
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
- Skills: Communication, multi-tasking, adaptability, teamwork, time management
- Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible
- Vehicle: Valid driver's license with at least one year of experience and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay rate of $17.45-$18.34 per hour, along with a full benefits package for full-time employees, including a 401(k) with a 3% company match. Additionally, you will receive paid time off plus holiday pay to recharge so you can be your best at work.
