Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety of lives by supporting the inspection of fire alarm systems. This position sets you on a rewarding career path as a life safety expert.

As an Inspector Helper, you will assist the Lead Fire Alarm Inspector in performing regular inspections, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance on various life safety systems, including Electrical, Sprinkler, and Suppression product lines. Johnson Controls is committed to providing a structured training and development program for Inspector Helpers, enabling you to pursue NICET certifications and advance within our organization and the fire safety industry.

Your Contributions Will Include:

  • Assisting clients in maintaining safe and compliant environments by inspecting and testing fire alarm systems and related devices to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Completing inspection reports and documentation accurately using communication tools such as laptops and/or hard copies.
  • Adhering to a structured inspection schedule.
  • Managing inspection documents through digital platforms.
  • Ensuring timely completion of assigned inspections.
  • Prioritizing safety for yourself, colleagues, and clients at all times.
  • Performing additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications We Seek:

Required Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with smartphone applications.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment up to 30 lbs.
  • Willingness to work at heights, including climbing ladders and using scaffolding.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends as required.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Willingness to complete the Inspector Entrée Course (Electrical) and OSHA training provided by the company.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Experience in retail, insurance, inventory, or order management is advantageous.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals (training will be provided).
  • Familiarity with hand tools and barcode scanners (training will be provided).
  • Successful attainment of NICET Level 1 License within the first year of employment, supported by company training.
