Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, and management. This role requires a strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently, referring complex cases to physicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications, and start IVs as necessary.
  • Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families.
  • Bill for patient services in accordance with CMS and NJ State Board Regulations.
  • Develop and implement plans of care for patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records, adhering to facility and nursing standards.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other medical providers.
  • Examine patients to determine the presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, and medical history.
  • Interview, instruct, and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Issue prescriptions to patients in accordance with Federal and State Regulations.
  • Order and review laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and document findings.
  • Participate in the development of protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform and obtain completed medical histories and physical data on patients, documenting findings.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice.
  • Review and audit charts routinely.
  • Suture wounds, incise and drain wounds, and repair lacerations as necessary.
  • Work in collaboration with physicians to diagnose conditions as needed.
