Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather comprehensive medical histories.
  • Measure and record vital signs, including weight, temperature, and blood pressure, accurately in patient records.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure patients are ready for their appointments.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and hospital staff.
  • Process ancillary reports and communicate patient results to providers for review.
  • Welcome patients and update necessary information in their medical records.
  • Guide patients to the appropriate areas post-examination.
  • Perform phlebotomy when required.

Additional Duties:
  • Manage incoming calls and schedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Handle medical-related messages, including prescription refill requests and test results.
  • Perform various clerical tasks as needed.
  • Exhibit professional telephone etiquette.
  • Provide patients with self-pay balance quotes during scheduling.
  • Inform patients about their financial responsibilities.
  • Direct patients to the appropriate representatives for account assistance.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist in inventory management and supply levels.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to office objectives.
  • Familiarize yourself with ICD-9 and CPT coding.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms.
  • Coordinate patient appointments for various diagnostic tests as ordered by providers.
  • Assist with referral and pre-certification processes.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate respect towards patients and colleagues.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to established guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control checks on equipment as necessary.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.00 to $22.37.
