Pavement Engineer Job Description

Nichols Consulting Engineers CHTD is seeking a highly skilled Pavement Engineer to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Pavement Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and managing pavement projects, working closely with senior staff and collaborating with clients to deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on pavement design and management. You will be responsible for evaluating pavement conditions, assisting with fieldwork, and producing pavement designs. Additionally, you will work closely with our team to develop and implement pavement management strategies, utilizing software such as StreetSaver and Paver.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about pavement engineering. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating pavement conditions and assisting with fieldwork
  • Producing pavement designs and reports
  • Developing and implementing pavement management strategies
  • Collaborating with clients and senior staff to deliver exceptional results

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with up to 3 years of experience, or M.S.
  • Ability to work in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento region
  • Strong knowledge of pavement design and management principles
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • EIT and ability to obtain CA PE License

Working Conditions:

May require field work, including construction equipment and sites, roadway, drilling coring rigs, occasional remote locations, airports, and ports.
