Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Research Pharmacist to join our team in the Investigational Drug Services (IDS) department. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for providing pharmacotherapy support for research patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pharmacotherapy Support: Provide accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of injectable chemotherapy and other medications for intravenous therapy.
  • Medication Management: Monitor and supervise the operation of the intravenous admixture program, ensuring accurate dosage amounts and intravenous compatibilities.
  • Patient Safety: Review patient profiles and new orders to prevent drug interactions and contraindications.
  • Drug Information: Provide current and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, including new medications, dosage requirements, indications, contraindications, pharmacology, side effects, and adverse reactions.
  • Investigational Drug Management: Manage the preparation and review of investigational drug products, ensuring accuracy and integrity of products prior to delivery to trial subjects.
  • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise technical staff members, residents, and interns in established policies and procedures for hospital, clinics, and department.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental and sponsor regulations, laws, and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree required; completion of a Post-Graduate Residency preferred.
  • Certification and Licensing: Licensed as a Florida Registered Pharmacist; certification in a relevant specialty or field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience required.
