Job Description

The Payroll Operations Manager will lead our payroll operations team, ensuring accurate management and processing of bi-weekly multi-state payroll, including bonus and commissions, salary adjustments, and compliance with pay rules. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR for new hire processes, terminations, and leaves of absence.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process bi-weekly multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review off-cycle payrolls, timely check processing, and accuracy of payroll reports
  • Handle escalated field queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with HR for new hire processes, terminations, and leaves of absence
  • Provide bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Controller and HR
  • Maintain Company's payroll compliance by staying up to date on federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Develop internal controls to ensure quality and efficiency of all payroll functions and regulatory compliance
  • Communicate procedures with company leadership and field offices
  • Lead the payroll team, training, mentoring, providing performance feedback, and writing performance reviews

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising a minimum of three direct reports
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Must be able to work in office full-time
  • ADP Workforce Now and E-time experience in a multi-state environment highly preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to apply multi-state wage laws
  • Track record of maintaining a positive and collaborative work atmosphere while imparting a warm customer service approach to all internal employee issues
  • Excellent communication and discernment skills
