**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Experimental Test Pilot, Flight Test Specialist to join our Flight Test team at Overair, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for piloting our air vehicles, conducting flight tests, and developing user interfaces, operating procedures, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pilot all Overair air vehicles.
- Perform normal test pilot related activities, including pre-flight preparation, briefings, debriefings, and after-flight reporting.
- Develop and implement ground and flight test plans.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Overair Ground Control Station (GCS).
- Conduct workload, ergonomic, and handling quality assessments.
- Collaborate with company DER Test Pilots to develop certification methodologies, training concepts, simulators, and related documentation.
- Participate in the certification process with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Conduct formation flying, flight training, and media demonstrations.
- Perform mission suitability assessments.
- Participate in Technical Review Boards (TRB), Safety Review Boards (SRB), and Technical Review Reports (TRR) as required.
- Write flight test reports.
- Assume safety oversight responsibility for ground and flight test operations.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School or equivalent level of experience as a Test Pilot.
- 5+ years of experience as an Experimental Test Pilot.
- Familiarity with standard flight test processes and procedures.
- Experience with Uninhabited Aerial System (UAS) certification and testing.
- Knowledge of the FAA civil certification process.
- Knowledge of the Fixed-Wing/Rotorcraft (FW/RW) light transport, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), and training missions.
- Experience with Risk Management, including Hazard Identification and preparing Risk Assessments.
- Hold a current Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Flight Test Engineering or other engineering discipline.
- Experience with flight testing Uninhabited Aerial Systems (UAS).
- Experience working with the FAA and familiarity with aircraft, helicopter, or powered lift FAA certification programs.
- Experience with flight testing eVTOL aircraft.
- Experience flying tilt-rotor aircraft.
- Experience operating light transport helicopters and/or aircraft.
- Experience with formation flying with UAS.
- Experience developing/optimizing simulators/ground control station, and training equipment.
- Experience in developing digital flight control systems.
- Experience flight testing rapid prototype aircraft and components.
- Experience working in fast-paced small teams.
- Familiarity with Victorville (VCV) and Edwards Air Force Base (EDW) airspace.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $150,000-$200,000 per year.
