The City of Sunrise is seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our utility operations department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain water treatment and pumping equipment to ensure high-quality drinking water for our citizens.
  • Conduct routine checks and inspections of treatment plants and distribution systems to identify and address any issues or concerns.
  • Monitor and record system performance, including water quality and flow rates.
  • Supervise and train utility plant operators to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure that our utility systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental science or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience in water treatment plant operation and management.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Class C operator's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with water treatment plant design and construction.
  • Knowledge of water quality regulations and standards.
