Cardiac Sonographer Specialist

This role focuses on utilizing advanced imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The successful candidate will possess specialized knowledge and skills in ultrasound technology, enabling them to provide high-quality diagnostic images and contribute to accurate patient care.
Job OverviewUnder the direction of the supervising clinical leader, the Cardiac Sonographer will perform and interpret a variety of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, including m-mode, 2-D real-time imaging, and Doppler techniques. This role requires minimal supervision and demands a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations using m-mode, 2-D, 3-D, and Doppler techniques.
- Provide preliminary interpretation of study results to cardiologists.
- Assist physicians in obtaining transesophageal, intraoperative, and three-dimensional studies.
- Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow infection control practices.
- Prepare patient information and obtain clinical data from patient charts prior to exams.
- Obtain permanent video or digital recordings and tracings from the ultrasound unit.
- Make accurate measurements and calculations from information obtained during exams.
- Acquire and export three-dimensional echocardiographic data and perform off-line computer analysis.
- Ensure all tests are officially read by cardiologists and contribute to final diagnostic impressions.
- Proofread final echo reports before sending to medical records.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance on ultrasonic equipment and instrumentation.
- Assist in maintaining and ordering supplies as designated by supervisor.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree in Radiologic Science and be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of hire. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is also required.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science and two years of clinical experience.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires frequent standing, occasional sitting and walking, and lifting of 30-35 pounds. The successful candidate must also be able to push, pull, and move stretchers and ultrasound machines.
Skills and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.
