Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Operations Manager to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of other food-service employees, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide one-on-one attention to detail, ensuring a positive dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items, adhering to company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control.
  • Menu Planning: Assist in planning menus that meet the needs and preferences of our customers.
  • Meal Service: Ensure timely and efficient meal service, supervising the serving of meals and responding to customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Employee Training and Development: Train and develop employees to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service, assigning and coordinating work to meet business needs.
  • Work Procedures and Scheduling: Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite work flow to ensure seamless operations.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Use proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports, including inventory-cash reports, production records, payroll, and time-keeping, ensuring compliance with company standards and government regulations.
  • Cash Handling and Inventory Management: Responsible for proper cash handling, including deposits, petty cash, and change funds, as well as ordering food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Direct and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees, adhering to company standards and government regulations.
Requirements:
  • Previous supervisory experience in a food service environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
