Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Sunrise Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including new hires, transfers, and separations.
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including off-cycle or manual checks as needed.
  • Review and audit time and attendance for integrity, following company policies.
  • Prepare and submit various management and payroll reports, ensuring the safeguarding of personal and confidential information.
  • Administer the payroll process for bonus programs and special payments.
  • Set up and maintain pay programs and policies, including time off programs.
  • Provide payroll training and support for employees and managers.
  • Respond to requests for employment verification, unemployment claims, and other inquiries.
  • Prepare and provide information for government or agency required data collection.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team and other departments on payroll and HR related tasks and projects.
  • Process payroll from start to finish, including year-end requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Understanding and practical experience with HR policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated capabilities with HR Technology, specifically payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with US Labor Laws, including FLSA and other legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze payroll/HR system issues.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this position is between $28 - $30 per hour, without benefits.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
