Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Home Hardlines Order Clerk to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for maintaining the check stand ends, power panel, outrigger, crossover merchandise, clip/swing displays, and gift card displays for our location. You will also provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Order Management: Order merchandise and maintain/stock all clips/swing displays, power panels, and check stand ends, crossovers, and gift cards per schematic.
  • Inventory Management: Verify Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) orders are complete, perform Replenishment Management System (RMS) requests, and coordinate with HBA and GRO Order Clerk to establish Minimums in Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) for Impulse Items.
  • Display Maintenance: Order and maintain displays for cross-over merchandise, and order off-shelf merchandise.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with stockroom maintenance standards, divisional signing, recovery, shrink control guidelines, merchandising standards, ticketing standards, planograms, and composites.
  • Receiving and Processing: Receive and process freight, and perform inventory control functions.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Verify promotions are set to standard, conduct stock counts, and maintain accurate On Hands for Replenishment and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) items.
  • Product Management: Process product deletions, verify accuracy in pricing integrity, and comply with corporate policies.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Promote and follow Company initiatives, maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions to maintain ordering system integrity, and respond to verbal customer comments/complaints.
  • Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS): Maintain compliance of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) standards, and verify all planograms are completed on time.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of six months company experience and one-two years related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Age: Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to pass drug test, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to work weekends/graveyard shifts on an occasional basis, early shifts, and overtime as needed, maintain confidentiality, accuracy/attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects, ability to perform applications in MAGIC and Handheld, proficient with current Company email, familiarity with industry/technical terms/processes, ability to work within set time frames/fixed deadlines, and lift truck certification/license.

  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge company policies, procedures, and organizational structure, proficiency with Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
