About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Structural License Renewal Engineer to join our team at Enercon Services. As a key member of our License Renewal Team, you will be responsible for providing regulatory expertise and developing documents for submittal to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal to the NRC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
  • Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry.
  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients licensing staff to ensure client satisfaction and proactively identify support opportunities.
  • Provide input to project/program work schedules regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them.
  • Ensure successful implementation of various aging management programs to fulfill NRC commitments associated with License Renewal.
  • Serve as a civil/structural SME and mentor within the license renewal group internally.
  • Act as the license renewal industry representative for significant technical issues within the civil/structural discipline.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of license renewal experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design and operations.
  • Preparation and review of aging management program documents supporting license renewal implementation.
  • Preparation of gap analyses and 10 CFR 54.37(b) reviews.
  • Site coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs.
  • Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops.
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a time-constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
  • Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry.
  • Possess ability to mentor engineers on civil/structural technical topics.
