We are in search of a skilled Lead Culinary Specialist to efficiently prepare and cook meals while ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role will also involve collaborating with the Kitchen Manager to guarantee that all food is prepared to meet customer expectations.

Incentive

$300 bonus upon successful completion of a 60-day period

Compensation: $19 per hour

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation and serving areas to uphold safe and sanitary food-handling standards.
  • Monitor and adjust cooking temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure food is stored and cooked at the appropriate temperatures.
  • Ensure the freshness of ingredients by regularly checking quality, managing inventory, and rotating stock.
  • Season and prepare dishes according to established recipes or personal expertise, under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager.
  • Utilize various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming for meats, fish, vegetables, and other food items.
  • Conduct taste tests to confirm that food is cooked to the desired level.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding as necessary.
  • Carve and portion meats for service, both hot and cold.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to develop menus, considering factors such as cost and special event requirements.
  • The company reserves the right to modify duties as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Customer Service Expertise: Understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Language Proficiency: Familiarity with the English language, including grammar, spelling, and composition.
  • Additional Skills: Strong communication, coordination, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Job Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a restaurant or cafe setting.
  • Certifications: Active ServSafe Certification and Food Handlers Certification.
