Key Responsibilities

The Security-Focused DevOps Specialist will report to the Information Security Manager and collaborate with Security Engineers, DevOps professionals, software developers, and other IT personnel to oversee secure code releases.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in bridging development, operations, and security to ensure the swift, safe, and secure delivery of code while integrating and automating security protocols and deployment processes.

Your Contributions

  • Embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines to guarantee secure deployment methods and reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Perform security code assessments to identify bugs and flaws prior to deployment.
  • Oversee security protocols for containerized services utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
  • Create and maintain documentation pertinent to DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Implement security patching as part of the deployment workflow.
  • Monitor security tools within the deployment pipeline and make adjustments to enhance automation and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate to uphold standards and identify as well as mitigate security risks.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and cloud trends, applying them to foster continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Assist software development teams in coding to address vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in DevSecOps and software development with a strong emphasis on security.
  • Solid development background and understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with tools like GitHub Actions and familiarity with AWS Cloud platform.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of Threat Modeling and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, SOC2, NIST, etc., in relation to software development and deployment.
  • Proficient in Ruby and Rust programming languages.
  • Comprehensive understanding of encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
